Coming Soon: More Oxytropidoceras, Eopachydiscus Ammonites!
Recent heavy rains revealed new specimens of the oxytropidoceras species in both the Kiamichi and Goodland formations nearby. The same creek has Duck Creek exposures interspersed along the way, allowing me to find eopachydiscus ammonites with beautiful sutures like the two shown below. Mortoniceras ammonites are also occasionally found here.

Idiohamites- rare complete specimen, 6.5" Conlinoceras Ammonite in great condition
I often find parts of hamites/idiohamites heteromorph ammonites along Duck Creek gravel bars near Benbrook Lake. But to find an entire specimen was exciting. I can't help but think it looks like a piece of rebar had a baby with a whip. I accidentally broke it while trying to minimize the size of the slab, and the inside is full of crystals. It glued back together perfectly.
Unrelated, I found one of the larger conlinoceras ammonites I've found that also happens to be in great shape with original shell (nacre) intact. 6.5" diameter. Very little work will be needed to make this one look just a little better.
Acanthoceras Amphibolum (pending confirmation of ID)- another first for me!

Our Fossils Are From The Rapidly Developing DFW Metroplex.
This means that your fossil is not just unique, but also increasingly scarce as more land becomes fenced off and developed throughout DFW. Each fossil tells a story, and we take great care in preserving the fossil as found to the best of our ability. All of these factors also give fossils scientific, monetary, and sentimental value, just as other collectibles or physical assets tend to retain or even increase value over time. There will never be another fossil exactly the same as yours!
We Hope To Hear From You!
